I wouldn't care much at this point whether it's fast or not. Develop
the rest of your program first. You'll discover that likely, the move
generation speed doesn't matter much. You'll also discover that maybe
you want to change things to extract information easier, and consequently
need to redo the move generation.

I've redone the move generation of my program several times. Last time
was yesterday ;)
