Amazing Q3 personality of Rebel Century!!!

Its amazing!! Q3 got the key moves of the following games, which most commercial
programs cannot find even if they run for days.

Q3 even found the move 17. Rxb7!!  of Kasparov – Shirov  Horgen 1994, but it
changed its mind after more than 3 minutes on my Athlon xp 1500+. That was the
game that Kasparov said no computer would understand the move.


I’m sure there are a lot of games that Q3 will find the key move. It’s very
efficient in finding the key moves, it usually finds the key move faster than
the commercial programs. But it’s a poor player when I played it against Rebel
Century. It strength lies in finding outrageous moves. It’s a good alternative
engine for finding deep tactical shot in a position. It’s also very helpful in
exploring wild ideas. Maybe Kasparov can use it in finding novelties cause I
tried in in some games and it was able to find the novelty moves.

Maybe a little more tweaking will improve its positional play to help it play a
complete game of chess. The key is to improve its postional play without
affecting its unique tactical eye. But of course its very hard to do cause one
adjustment will affect all the others. Just have to find the optimum. It needs a
lot of experiments.
