If it is only 1 position then I cannot learn much about the general position
understanding of programs.

It is better to do it with positions he could not know before.
for example the positions after 10 moves in a tournament that will be done in
the future.

I did it between fritz5 and Junior5 in the 2 serious games in the match
Rebel-anand(30 minutes per game +30 seconds per move and the results were good
for fritz5 (3.5:.5)
I believe Junior was not lucky that I chose these games and it does not prove
fritz5 is better than Junior5 in general positional understanding.
I am not convinced that the nunn match is for fritz5 because
in the first 10 games hiarcs6 is leading 6:4 in 67 seconds per move and 5.5:4.5
in 600 seconds per move (both matches with 23Mbytes hash tables)
