Absolutely. Thanks for answering to Peter's weak argument. I'm working with RHIDE (integrated developpement environment) and DJGPP (the DOS port of Gnu C compiler). I'm currently in the process of switching to Linux for my developpement needs. That should be relatively easy as RHIDE is available under Linux as well. GCC is since a long time, naturally. In the future I will develop exclusively under Linux and will use Windows as seldomly as possible. One reason to boot Windows from time to time will be to compile the Chess Tiger engine with the MSVC (or any other good Windows compiler) to produce a Win32 executable for my customers. I'm thinking about making the Chess Tiger engine available for free for Linux users. For me it would be a way to contribute to the OS of the future. When Linux takes off, the Linux version of Tiger will not be free anymore. Christophe >As another example, all Sjeng development is done on Linux.
