You also need KQQK.NBW.EMD, KQQK.NBB.EMD, KQKQ.NBW.EMD, KQKQ.NBB.EMD, KQK.NBW.EMD and KQK.NBB.EMD. What probably happens is this: The GUI takes over in for TB-positions. At some stage, the stronger side will probably need to capture the opponent Q (or the opponent starts the trade). But, because you are missing the TB after the first capture, there is no immediate mate value seen. So, the GUI refuses to capture. From your followup, I can see, that under the "classic" GUI of Shredder it works. Probably the engine searches on to find faster mates (and can find them fast), so, the problem is gone. For older CB-GUIs one could uncheck the option, of the TB-usage of the GUI. With all engines, that can access TBs, this option should be unchecked. But engines, that do not search on, after the first mate score, may still show the same problem. With slightly modern hardware, you can create all 3 and 4-men TBs in few hours, or you can download them, and the problem should be gone. Regards, Dieter
