Here is the updated information on the CM9000 vs current US champion GM Larry Christiansen match. The match will be played over ICC on Saturday, September 28th and Sunday September 29th. There will be four games, two on each day. The start times for the games will be 10am and 6pm Eastern time. The time control will be 30/60 (30 moves in one hour). Chessmaster 9000 will be using a P4-2.4GHz machine, and (yet to be determined) adjustments will be made to the hash table size. Additionally, GM Christiansen will be playing against four different CM personalities. One of them will be the Chessmaster personality, and the other three will be GM personalities that will be selected by the development team. I am not sure when (if at all) we have to announce the other personalities, but I know that the Chessmaster personality will be going last. Apart from changing the hash-table size, no adjustments to the personalities will be made for this match. Live commentary will be provided by GM Yasser Seirawan and Women's GM and current US Womens champion Jennifer Shahade. It is unknown yet whether or not IM Josh Waitzkin will also be providing commentary. We hope to see you all there! I have to get up before 6am on both days, so there goes my weekend! :-) jm
