ChessMaster is a commodity software, sold in the millions. There is no market for small transactions. The markup is too small. The best place to get something like that is the computer software stores that store the fast moving stuff on their shelves. I am guessing that ICD Your Move Chess and Games has to make a 35% markup to stay afloat. With ChessMaster, they would probably just be undercut by internet transactions. Also, with such a low price, the amount earned per transaction is much lower, and so 35% is probably not enough in that case -- more like 50%. In short, I don't think it makes any sense for ICD to stock ChessMaster 9000 unless UbiSoft cuts them a sweet deal.
