Subject: CM9000: The EGDB are working proberly

Cheron 0717 = 1.Kg2 Zugeordnete Felder
[D]8/4k3/3p4/3P4/2P5/8/8/5K2 w - - 0 1
White wins with 1.Kg2

After further tests I am glad to confirm that the EGDB's under CM9-GUI are
working properly. The example given above was in so far a bad one as we have a
5-men EGDB with KPKPP and this one is not delivered with the CM9-CD. Hence, it
was logical the the CM9-GUI could not give an instant solution with 1.Kg2.

However, there still remains one mystery: When using TheKing 3.23 under
Fritz7-GUI with Wb2Uci.exe and Wb2Uci.eng, the same position is instantly solved
with 1.Kg2 and mate announcement. I have no explanation but do of course very
much appreciate this behaviour.

In the meantime I have downloaded FEG (Final Endgame Generator) that allows you
to
generate Endgame Databases for use in Chessmaster 9000. Just a great tool in my
opinion.

And finally, I should like to thank John Merlino for his always kind assistance
to the users of Chessmaster 9000. It is indeed very seldom that people can get
such an excellenct software support.

Kurt
