People from all countrys in the world must have the chance to get a good free
software. In my opinion is 50 Euro to many money for a chess engine.

That's right, good history or?
What do you mean why the software is today available for a slower price.

In the most cases.

That's right!

It's a question of time.
With time comes more strong and free available programs and persons all over the
world can used this programs.

Commercial software is in my opinion only interesting the GUI developments, not
the engine. 99,9% from all people can not win against Knightx (for an example).
A good GUI is important and here we have also strong developments (see Scid,
Arena and much other software).

My question for you:
If we have no longer firms which for sell chess engines what do you think what
commercial programmers make? Do you think the programmers give here programs
also for free?

We will see how important is for a programmer the users after a long time where
this group of programmers get mony for his programs.

The big time for commercial chess is over!
Normaly in the new media market.

New ideas are interesting and not old ideas ...

Best
Frank
