Since Ruffian plays about even with the professional programs and yet uses its own book, it is logical to assume that out of book it is stronger than many professional programs. I am assuming that the Ruffian book is inferior. In fact, I expect that in tests like this, Ruffian will beat every program. Similarly, if you give Ruffian one of the strongest professional opening books, I expect it may win first place in the SSDF if tested.
