I do the same - always a mirror in my brain.
Sometimes i'm confused eg. what means shifting left or right.

I wrote a small mfc-tool, an mdi-application where i can paste decimal or
hexadecimal biboards into, via clipboard. So during debugging, if i wan't to
inspect a bitboard variable, i need to copy the value from a watch/variable
window and can simply visualize the bitboard as a "real" board representation.
