You can do that with two machines for example: one NT machine with the engine plus a rsh daemon/service (easy to find) and one unix/xboard machine using rsh to run the engine remotely from the NT one. You would end up with a much better performance than using wine and simpler configuration IMO. (note that this is just a technical point on your comment and not related at all to the debate on ruffian)
