Before the "three-fingered salute to Billg" I suggest the following course:
1. Using the version where both Ruffian and ChessMaster are on the same
drive...
2. Get the configuration to work under Winboard
3. Once you are sure that it is working under Winboard (as verified by the log
file), try again with ChessMaster.
Just to be sure that it really does work under ChessMaster, I did another run:

Clearly, it finds the book. Now, maybe the UNIX style path names are required:

(note the forward slashes instead of the backslashes).
Are you sure that everything is spelled correctly? Does Ruffian find the hash
settings? (you can probably verify that with the Windows Task Manager).
Do you see anything in the log file?
