I have noticed that, in CM9000 (and most likely in CM8000 also), that Ruffian
may have a problem if you have the Thinking Lines window open. I only noticed
this problem if pondering was OFF, however.

Either way, try closing that window and checking the log files (or TaskInfo) to
determine if pondering on/off are working properly.
