CM9000 uses DirectX 8.1, so I assume that DirectPlay was also updated for that version, or AT LEAST updated between DX7.X and DX8.0. I have always been able to connect when I'm outside the firewall, assuming that the host has also set up his connection correctly. Firewalls, however, appear to be the bane of CMLive, even if you open the proper ports.
