Thanks John for the info!

1)  Been testing it more and may have it working behind NAT.  Actually, I have
it working with an old DLINK dsl/cable router; Ironically I can't get Windows
2000 RRAS to successfully do it.

1.5)  Because the ports are 47624/2300-2400TCP, I'm thinking the directplay is
still using DX7... you may be able to clarify this.  CM9 isn't listed in DXDIAG
for whatever reason, I'll reinstall directx and see if it helps.

2)  Video cards: that's good to know.  On one machine, the board appears but no
pieces (or vice versa, I can't remember), and then it freezes up.  The laptop
video card does similar, it only has an 8mb video card but is otherwise great
(900mhz PIII).

I imagine that most video cards "claim" compatibility; I prefer the 2D anyway.
If this happens to someone who doesn't think to edit the layout file manually,
you may get a lot of returns.

Thanks for your help, it's nice to have the developers ear.
