I also downloaded their "Lunsenbook" PGN file when it was still available. Then
I heard that it was not actually a book prepared by a Mr. Lunsen, but a copy of
Chessbase's "PowerBook" uploaded by mistake. Thus it was deleted from the
website to avoid legal problems with the Chessbase company, I presume.

But that is all hearsay, and I don't know what is true.

I can confirm that the opening book I prepared therefrom for Chessbase/Fritz 7
seems excellent and I rank it among the top 3 chess databases in my collection.
After some technical troubles, I was also able to make an opening book with
their 2.4 million chess game download. I also rank it highly, among my top 3
database. For my 3rd top opening book (in my opinion), I converted the Scid
database to a Chessbase/Fritz 7 opening book, which also seems excellent.
Between those 3, I'm fairly sure to find the best opening move. Occasionally it
is still useful to consult the ChessLab and Chessbase Online sites, but having
those databases on the local hard drive greatly reduces that need.
