To answer your q Hiarcs is supposed to be a more positional program than Fritz
which is the tactics king however this difference is only important at higher
levels so you should be able to appreciate it (more than I at least :)) I would
also advise you to look at the Rebel stable www.rebel.nl. The rebel 11 package
was outstanding value for money (windows xp can't run rebel century tho' :(. If
you want to buy a Chessbase product buy Shredder 6, you get a monster program
plus to GUIs = bargain
