HIARCS is supposed to play in a more refreshing style. It will often times introduce some pretty innovative ideas on the board. FRITZ is supposed to be the tactics king. Excellent anylysis partner. In terms of style, FRITZ - Plays solidly, almost without giving any tactical loopholes. HIARCS - Plays more energetically. Of course, being a program, tactical mistakes will be punished without remorse by either HIARCS or FRITZ, but FRITZ relies more on its tactics than HIARCS. PS.>>> Why not try ARENA + RUFFIAN (plus SOS, plus ANMON, plus GROMIT, plus Goliath, plus CRAFTY, plus YACE, etc etc etc.) It offers about 150 entirely different playing engines and styles.
