Two problems with this:

i. For fairness the human would somehow have to be wiped clear of book knowledge
too. Which leads to ...

ii. The book is an intrinsic part of the program and spices up the play,
sometimes very markedly. I've occasionally tried programs without the book and
they frequently play semi-symmetrical e4, Nf3, Nc3 ... and d4, Nf3, Bf4 ...
openings.

I can't help feeling the bookless Utopia would be a very dull Utopia ;)
