It's not a bug, but a variable which appears in the 'Set-Up Personality' - 'Long Playing Style' box. When setting up a New Game/Rated Game etc and selecting your opponent(s), the correct rating will be shown which is calculated using the 'Base Rating' of the opponent and your computer's processor and speed. E.g. The ChessMaster personality on my computer has a Base Rating of 2724 but is reported as 2835 in the 'Select Personality' window. I think one reason it has been done this way is so that you can create your own 'rated' customized opponents/Winboard Engines. I've not played about with this option yet, but I think John Merlino has mentioned something about it recently on this Forum (may be in relation to a 'real' bug!)
