AFAIK, AMD has only one fab that really produces microprocessors - Fab30 in
Dresden, Germany (?).  They might still use Austin, TX fab, but I thought they
were only producing Flash memory now there or something.  I could be wrong.
Intel has a ton of fabs, all over the place.

I believe the cost of building a new fab with state-of-the-art tools is well
over a billion dollars.
