I just wonder out of all those programs which one is the best against a human--
Grandmaster? I believe that programs who have more knowledge programed into them
will limit it's depth search because of all it's knowledge that it needs to
search through. Programs like Hiarcs 8 and Rebel Century are like this and thus
you see they don't perform as well against other programs as they lose to being
out-searched in the tacrtical complications, but we see that they do very well
against the Grandmasters. Look how Rebel Century performed against Van Weily!
CM 9000 did a marvelous job beating 3 time US Champion, Larry Christiansen with
a terrific score of 2.5-1.5 Would Fritz 7 do much better on equal hardware?

Terry
