Subject: Approximate ELO ratings for beginners/intermediates

I understand from other posts that there are no absolute values for ELO ratings
regarding skill levels of people, but is it possible to give some indication of
the ELO range that can be expected for someone of average ability who has just
started to play chess.

Similarily, some ELO ranges for different levels of skill/experience would be
helpful e.g. absolute beginner, average club player, good club player etc.

I have just bought CM9000 and would like some idea of which personality I may be
capable of having a good game with.
