Hello Marc, the above mentioned link to Odd Gunnars cookbook describes the method of using the King engine in Fritz GUI (not in Chesspartner GUI). I never tried to use the engine King 3.12d of CM8000 (or the new King 3.23 of CM9000) in my Chesspartner GUI of Tiger 14. But in Fritz, Shredder Classic, Arena or Chess Assistant 6.1 the King engines run smoothly as "UCI" engines with Odd Gunnars adaptor Wb2Uci. If you're interessed in using your King engine in Fritz 7, Shredder Classic or Arena: Let me know the exactly paths of your folders - Chessmaster 8000 or 9000, e.g. C:\Program files\Chessmaster 8000 - Fritz 7 (or Shredder 6-CB, Hiarcs 8), Shredder 6 Classic or Arena then I will send you some prepared files for starting the King engine very simple - in case of "The King 3.12d" (engine of CM 8000) including the possibility to switch between some special CM settings (like CM_default, CM_Fun, CM8777_Kleinert, CM_Schuele, CM_Pillen, CM_Brann ...) in an easy way. Regards, Manfred
