I give the biggest probability to the event that it is an original engine but it is natural to suspect after past cases when new strong engines were discovered as clones. If it is a clone(I guess that it is not a clone) then the biggest probability is that the programmer got the source code of Fritz and changed it. What I do not like about Ruffian is that like Fritz it is using no zugzwang verification. Of course it is no evidence that it is Fritz clone(movei of today also does not use zugzwang verification but it is going to be changed in the future). I also found that at 60 minutes/60 moves it is using sligthly less time then in 60 minutes/game and it is not a logical decision. Uri
