Bob never had any strong opinion at all.  I looked at the executable very
quickly and
was pretty convinced it was not crafty even before doing so, because of some of
the
search results posted here.

That is my only conclusion to date.  It _might_ be 100 points stronger.  It
might not be.
Hard to say since the book is a critical part of the system and the Crafty book
as
distributed is really too wide for comp vs comp play due to the requirements of
a wide
book for the chess servers.  It could still be a clone of another program.  Or a
program
written with a lot of help by some well-known (but unrevealed) author.

Who knows?

And, from my perspective, who cares?
