Some are OS specific. True, windows has a robust GUI compared to Unix, so that does make some tasks more intuitive. Got news for you: in many shops (not all, of course) the license costs for a microsoft solution are far less than you'd think, and development costs are quicker than they'd be in another environment. Who's biased here? ;)
