1) home user
2) bussiness desktop
3) Servers
4) Scientific compute engines
5) Software development platform
Linux is doing well in 3 & 4.
Some possibilities in 5.
MS is pretty secure (for now) in 2.
Linux could do well in 1 some day, but not now.
Many vendors supply drivers for linux, so you just download them.
So, 1 will be the next big drive, but MS will not be replaced for
some time.
