Different programs behave differently on different machines with different
hardware configurations, different CPU;s and different operating systems.
Nobody here has clue about specifically the chess program and hardware/software
configuration YOU have.  You will have to be much more specfic to get an answer
that may be meaningful to you.

As an aside, larger hash tables often appear to the gave fewer nods per second -
but that is because the hast table is being used.  The program will be faster
with the larger tables and slower NPS at the slower time controls.  Huge Hash
Tables for fast time controls is a waste.
