all i can tell you from my experience is, that the astonishing results of ruffian decrease when you let it play 40/120 on 2 machines against e.g. Hiarcs, Tiger15 or even fritz7. Junior and Shredder are not so problematical (for ruffian). But hiarcs8 and tiger15 seems to be a problem. i am not attacking the value or strength of ruffian. its a strong amateur program. indeed. but i have seen results posted by other people in newsgroups where ruffian beats hiarcs etc. and other nonsense. this is all due to the setting, time control or 1 machine instead of 2... but we can of course discuss much. i guess the ssdf will have found out in a few weeks.
