Subject: Ruffian is a dumb chess engine?

 i played a game against Ruffian 75 mins and it hangs after every 2 or 3 moves
and stops thinking can someone tell me why i played 5 or 6 games i got the same
thing again and again it stops thinking and i had to click force move al the
time.
