I did some web-searching about this, since it also interests me. (heck, we can
throw away our application at work if it isn't thread-safe ;) I didn't find an
official word so far, but it seems that all "modern" libaries have a thread-safe
implementation of new and delete. I'm still looking for an "official statement"
though.
