That's most certainly true, but it also most certainly comes to no-ones surprise
that the number of lines Kramnik will have to go through to get his moves is not
a factor in Deep Fritz's evaluation function.
Plus, if these two lines transpose (certainly someone on this board who has a
copy of DF can check this?) then either Bf8 is not one of the moves that were
responsible for the loss or Be7 might well have been just as bad - from a
game-theoretical point of view at least, not considering the psychological
aspects of this that you mentioned.
