The answer to the question is "False."

There are many commercial programs for Linux.  Apparently, you haven't looked
very hard.

Have you noticed the interest IBM has taken in Linux?  You can get DB/2 for
Linux.

Borland, Fujitsu and Intel make commercial compilers for Linux.

The company I work for sells commercial Linux products.
