Of course, the DB/2 that works on Linux answers questions like:
SELECT * FROM MNTB.TVTNSDRA A
WHERE A.LOT_NUMBER IN
(SELECT DISTINCT B.LOT_NUMBER
  FROM MNTB.TVTNITUR B
  WHERE UNIT = '638')
WITH UR;

Instead of things like "Where should I move my horsey?"

You can get DB/2 for Win32 also. Not quite the DB/2 you have in mind, probably.

The original DB/2 ran on an RS/6000 and was written in C. I imagine (though I
cannot swear to it) it may have been a Linux application. More likely AIX, but
it could probably be ported to Linux very easily even at that.

So if you want to resurrect and purchase Deep Blue, then Linux is probably a
viable options.
