Many people posting on ICC said that they will now avoid buying Fritz because of the results so far. I think that's wrong. Fritz is not the issue. Kramnik's strength and understanding of how to play a computer (any computer) is the issue. If you want to buy any chess program, Fritz is a good one (as are Tiger, ChessMaster, Junior, Shredder, Hiarcs, Rebel, and others)! If instead you want to "punish" something because the computer has fallen behind in this match, don't take it all out on the program that happens to be involved -- others would surely suffer similar results. Kramnik's winning technique thus far is not Fritz-unique, IMHO.
