Okay, I have a new game: the first one that I posted was log.017, the new one is
log.036, so this means I am 1 for 19 against the new (mt=2) setup. I think it
is not a coincidence that a similar kingside attack was successful, it looks
like it is a good idea to open your g-file against computer opponents if they
are not already attacking your king. :) I was not particularly happy with my
position at some points in the game though.
I would not have dared play like I did (e.g. allowing the open g-file) against a
human opponent. I just was hoping that Crafty would let me get away with more
or less the same plan as in the first game. Maybe people will try this plan on
ICC (the "mashter attack"? , shades of Mercilous :-) and Bob will have some
evaluation adjustments forthcoming in 16.x?
I've included the log, perhaps there is still something suboptimal about my
setup. I did notice that I didn't get 200% CPU utilization, the range was
roughly 175% to 195% though, so the second CPU is definately being used.
Perhaps it is just that the searches are really short because of the fast time
control (40 moves in 5 minutes).

One thing I noticed from the log of the first game is that Crafty was often not
allocating as much time as it normally would to keep me from getting too far
ahead on the clock. This wasn't a factor in the second game, though.
I guess the most important thing to remember is that it's just a game once in a
while that goes like this, and that with a little more search time I'm sure that
Crafty will refute some of the speculative kingside play I engaged in. :)
