I am trying to create a large book to look through via CDB 1.5. I am running
Windows NT 4.0, with 128Mb on-board, and a 500Mb swap file (starts at 300Mb).
I tried to import rock.pgn into CDB (compression after 100 ply), I got an error
message after some of the games were imported. I tried with wall.pgn and got
the same error:
Could not allocate 65536 more bytes in database with 104856628 bytes
When I press OK, it is followed by:
Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
Runtime Error!
abnormal program termination
When I press OK, the application closes, and the games that were imported up to
that point are lost.
I am not sure how many games are in wall.pgn and rock.pgn, I think wall might
have 300-something thousand in it. Am I asking too much out of CDB? Or with
some configuration tweaking (e.g. drop "Compression" value to 80 ply) could I
get it to work?
