Nobodoy is perfect, not even >Kramnik. Nicely put, and never mind the reputation of the CCC, what about the reputation of Kramnik? The suggestion that such a strong player and master of defence (I even had a couple of _non chess players_ mention the 'Berlin Wall' to me the past week and ask for an explanation, probably prompted by BBC news reports!) would deliberately play such a horrendous blunder is preposterous.
