I don't believe in a mis-picking of the piece...I suggest an overlook due to an
overconfidence in his previous developed anti-Fritz technique i.e. cut off the
queens.
Unfortunately in this case the trick didn't work: it resembles to me an
unsuccessful attempt of a bomb squad expert trying deactivate a dangerous
blasting device counting down...he just cut off the wrong wire and the bomb
exploded on him.
