Kasparov helped by Deep Blue :)

But jokes apart, what I want to stress is that IMO Kramnik has devised a precise
strategy in this match against Fritz, i.e. knock off all the heavy pieces with
forced trades and go smoothly to a calm endgame where the heavy weapons are
deactivated and possibly with locked pawns.
In that playground the worst outcome for him can be a draw, but thanks to
endgame long range planning weakness of Fritz, he can usually get the full point
if the first part of the plan were successful.
