Uri you are forgetting one point. Diep is better than Deep Blue. As per
Vincent's comments.

He has said it more than once. I would bet the farm that Diep wouldn't win a
single game vs Deep Blue. It might happen to draw a game.

I think Diep has finished as high as fourth in a WCCC or IPCCC. I could be wrong
and I just might be. I don't have a link but it might have finished 2nd last
year. Again I could be wrong about that to. I think it might have one a Dutch
Championship before. I could be wrong again.

Vincent thinks that whatever he _can't_ do, simply no one else can. That is
utter crap but it is what he believes.

His program has the most knowledge of any program.. again as per his comments.
And it might. Has it helped it? Not a chance.

I always take what Vincent says with a grain of salt because he talks out of his
ass and not with any real thought. He is right.. everyone else is wrong.

In fact here is the finger notes of Diep(C) on ICC:

Information about diep(C) (Last disconnected Sun Oct 13 2002 17:48):

rating [need] win loss draw total best
Bullet 2948 [8] 1516 42 83 1641 3103 (05-May-2002)
Blitz 2993 [8] 2864 185 264 3313 3148 (09-Apr-2002)

1: Chess program DIEP <shakes> your hand!
2: Hardware: Dual 1.4 Ghz K7, 512 megs RAM, OS: Linux 2.4.19 (Gentoo Distro),
Downloading EGTBS right now...
3: Diep is an independent program written by Vincent Diepeveen. It is not
crafty, and it is not fritz. Don't confuse it with Deep Blue, it's better; and
more important, it plays games here and now. Diep has a lot of chess knowledge
inside. I test diep under this account to see if I need to bugfix it
4: Any humans within 600 pts can play diep rated, ANYONE can play diep unrated.
5: Computers are allowed to play diep in 30 30 or 60 10 standard.
 6: diep(C) kibitzes: pv=00:00 32401 (264) 9 MATE42 Bc3xb2 Kg7-f8 Be8-h5 Kf8-g7
7: If you have any questions, first "fi Diepeveen", then send him a message

 Name : Vincent Diepeveen
 Email : diep@xs4all.nl

I think that is a bold statement to make especially when everyone knows it is
utter crap.
