Take a peek at Parser.L from Winboard by Tim Mann. flex -L parser.l will generate lex.yy.c which becomes parser.c His grammar is very tolerant of naughtyness like: 0-0-0 // zero-zero-zero instead of: O-O-O // oh-oh-oh and the like.
