If he wins without much trouble from DF, everyone will say, "Oh, but DF is not as strong as (or stronger than) DBII, there is no comparison." If he wins with a close fight: -- The sponsers will be happy. -- The spectators will be happy. -- Chessbase will be happy. But most importantly it will make it look like a justified rematch of DBII vs Kasp. I have seen average GMs beat the crap out of commercial programs on blitz games. And when you have the world's strongest (arguably) player, who is also good at playng against computers, playing with 1 million dollars at stake... DBII is differant story, the whole purpose of the program was to beat Kaspy, and noone but kaspy. So possibly other TOP programs could have conveniently taken care of DBII. So IMO there are no comparison between DBII and current programs for more than few reasons, and kramnik shouldn't worry about it. I just hope Kasp-Junior game doesn't turn out to be a joke too. cheers, pavs
