Hi All,
I wanted to know how much branching factor you guys get in ur chess
engine (if any). What is the best thing you feel improves move ordering and
hence the branching factor. I find killers and history values not to be of much
use. (killers are better though). The formauls I use to calculate branching
factor (BF) is
BF = exp(log(N)/P)
where N is the total nodes searched
and P is the maximum ply searched.
exp(x) is 'e' raised to power 'x'
log(x) is natural log of 'x'
What do you guys use ??
Any comments are most welcome!!
