I suspect _never_ because it would be a PR disaster waiting to happen. Quite
apart from the fact that not everyone likes computers*, the conspiracy theories
here would be a mere taster of the insults and recriminations that would fly
around ... it's fortunate this forum is closed as anyone unsympathetic to chess
would read it and think 'what a bunch of crackpots'.

(As far as I am aware there is no sport which routinely mixes human and computer
opponents in high-profile tournaments, and I suspect there will never be).

* it's surprising the proportion of non-chess players I know who are amazed that
Kramnik and Kasparov would have anything to do with such a match and think the
whole concept is 'creepy'.
