You are dead wrong! Why did Kramnik think for 42 minutes just 2 moves before his
sacrifice if he didn't care to win?
After Kramnik played the sacrifice and as he played further into the position he
realized that he overlooked the move Bh4 and so he realized then that he now had
a big problem and then had to deviate from his original analysis.
A report from there claimed that at this point Kramnik had his head in his hands
talking to himself, this kind of reaction doesn't show that he don't care!
Another point, Kramnik knows he needs to do his best because his performance
against Deep fritz will obviously be compared to Kasparov's match with D.Junior!
Another point, Kramnik is the World Champion and with this status a champion
will want to show off how good he is to the whole world at all times! He already
has millions of dollars and the money don't mean near as much to him as does his
honour and prestige!!
