Then I did it right I only used prunning misc 12 too activate the Se parameters
which are active
And did not use the others
Because using pruning misc 8 to use forward prunning indeed did lead to less
good positional play.
I still use deepest search though.
Plys are less qualety and evaluation are better.
But this are two measures which are of more importance when using faster
hardware
And playing tournament games.
Only then the faster hardware will realy help to improve the search.
the plys your talking about are to my point of vieuw not realy half moves.
It otherwise would mean on a fast system Junior could realy look ahead more then
16 full moves.
We all know that is not the fact.
I also think an increased selectivty will take more advantage of faster
hardware.
With other words make the default program slower to improve the search  on
faster hardware and longertime controls.
