Author: Richard A. Fowell (fowell@netcom.com)

See: http://www.rjen.com/Macintosh/PGNTalk.html

for screenshot, feature list, download link, links to
complementary freeware programs and PGN download sites.

I spent a lot of time beta testing for the author, and the resulting
product is pretty polished. I've appended the author's description:

PGNTalk is a talking chess utility. It displays games saved in Portable
Game Notation (PGN) format. Among its many features, PGNTalk:

* Speaks moves and game comments using any of Apple's provided voices.
* Can be used as a helper application to view games from your web browser.
* Supports drag-and-drop.
* Is highly configurable (animate/don't animate moves, set separate delays
between moves in both forward and reverse directions and for highlighting
checks, hide/show game result, etc.).
* Allows board diagrams to be cut and pasted into any text document as
EPD or text (standard ASCII or using one of several chess fonts).
* Displays move comments.
* Displays the games list sorted (in either direction) by any field.
* Provides keyboard shortcuts for all commonly used features.
* Provides extensive balloon help.

PGNTalk requires System 7.1 or later, 5 Mb of hard drive space, 4 Mb free
memory (2 Mb without color), and the Apple Speech Manager extension (for
speaking).
